Why the New Age Movement is Bad for You
While the New Age Movement encompasses a diverse range of beliefs and practices, it's important to acknowledge that there can be potential risks or concerns associated with certain aspects of the philosophy, especially its true origins which is highly controversial. While I will not go into these origins here, it’s important to do your own research because when you do, you will be able to put together the puzzle pieces and nefarious reasons the New Age movement was birthed during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Drug culture, hippie culture, and other cult-like behaviors became prominent and people like Timothy Leary, who has openly admitted to working with the CIA was one of the movement leaders in psychedelics.
For this article, we will look at the harmful aspects of the New Age philosophy that rely solely on beliefs and practices that lack esoteric or scientific evidence. Claims of supernatural abilities, psychic phenomena, or alternative health treatments without proper scientific validation may lead to false hopes, financial exploitation, and potential harm if individuals forego evidence-based medical treatments or interventions. Just because you engage in mind-altering substances, doesn’t conclude you are a genius nor a good leader.
In many cases, the New Age philosophy can promote the idea of transcending or bypassing negative emotions and challenges by focusing solely on positive thinking, manifestation techniques, or spiritual practices.
This approach may overlook the importance of psychological healing and addressing underlying issues, potentially delaying or avoiding necessary personal growth and emotional healing. One of which is missing from the “positive thinking belief” is that of the subconscious mind.
Just because you think positively, doesn’t equate that your desires will manifest — no matter how qualified a Law of Attraction practitioner you appear to be. Subconscious programming and the unconscious behaviors cannot be access solely with positive thinking. You must endure shadow work and swim in the abyss, if you are to truly overcome limiting beliefs.
There is no amount of positive thinking that will dissolve your subconscious programming.
Within the New Age Movement, there can be instances of charismatic leaders, groups, or gurus who exert undue influence, manipulate followers, or foster dependence. Such dynamics can lead to loss of personal autonomy, financial exploitation, and psychological harm.
"True freedom and lasting happiness can only be found by understanding and living in alignment with Natural Law, the inherent principles that govern the universe."

Why The New Age Movement is Bad For You:
Lack of Critical Thinking Skills
Some critics argue that the New Age movement can promote uncritical acceptance of beliefs and practices without sufficient examination or evidence. This can lead to a susceptibility to pseudoscience, misinformation, and unproven claims, which may not contribute to a well-rounded understanding of the world.
Blind Belief in Man-made Egregores
Egregores can influence group dynamics and foster a sense of belonging and unity. However, blind belief in an egregore can also lead to groupthink and conformity, where individuals may suppress their own unique perspectives and blindly follow the beliefs and actions of the group.
Law of Attraction: No Actions Taken
The problem with The Law of Attraction is that consciously choosing to think a certain way does not change our subconscious and our subconscious drives most of our actions. Our subconscious mind is not really affected by our conscious thoughts but instead by our deepest values based on our past experiences.
Paid Operatives
These operatives are purposely put into the New Age movement to cultivate perpetuate the egregore and to sustain the hive mind. As long as you believe in the hive mind, you’ve surrendered your personal
Publishing Industry Scams
Publishing industries can shape cultural narratives and influence public opinion through the content they publish. In some cases, this influence can be used to perpetuate harmful stereotypes, reinforce societal biases, or promote an agenda that may not align with objective truth or promote inclusivity.
No Access of Higher Faculties
Expecting external forces to solve all problems without taking practical action can be unrealistic and potentially detrimental.
False Profits, Gurus and Leaders
Financial exploitation: Within the New Age movement, there are instances of individuals or organizations taking advantage of people's spiritual seeking by charging exorbitant fees for workshops, products, or services. This can lead to financial strain or exploitation.
THE TAKEAWAY:
It's important to remember that these concerns do not apply to everyone in the New Age movement, and individuals may have different experiences and interpretations within this broad belief system. It's crucial for individuals to approach any belief system with critical thinking, discernment, and a balanced perspective, while also being mindful of their own well-being and seeking reliable sources of information and guidance. This is why self-mastery is the key to living a truly free life. Once you access your Higher Faculties, you can see beneath the facade and remove yourself from the group mind. Once you have achieved this, you will not only know what freedom is, you will have achieved self-rulership.
