The Sacred Meaning of Harlot
This is a clip from the episode called: Keepers of the Gnosis : Season 4, Episode 7
For example:
Ishtar was sometimes referred to as the Goddess Har because she was seen as the mother of the "harlots." However, these "harlots" were not prostitutes in the modern sense; they were priestesses and healers. These sacred women, often called holy virgins, served goddesses such as Ishtar, Asherah, or Aphrodite in their spiritual practices.
In Hebrew, the word hor translates to "a cave" or "dark hole," while the Spanish term for "whore," puta, originates from the Latin word meaning "a well." Interestingly, the Latin word puticuli, which refers to "grave," carries the meaning of "womb of rebirth." Tracing back even further, the root of this word can be found in early Sanskrit, where puta is defined as pure and holy. The imagery of the cave, the hole, and the endless black lake symbolized the Great Goddess, representing the primordial darkness from which all life emerges.
